Thank you for visiting the Kajiya Senbei website. Before we knew it, we are about to celebrate our 100th anniversary, all thanks to the continuous support from everyone who has cherished Kajiya Senbei. We are filled with gratitude. Looking back, it has been a life journey together with senbei. After the previous generation passed away when I was just 22, I suddenly had to take over the family business. Knowing nothing at first, I learned everything about the craft with determination. After getting married, my wife and I spent countless nights discussing and baking senbei, even as we raised our children, carrying them on our backs. Those days were challenging but now hold a nostalgic place in my heart.

The culmination of years of trial and error led us to create senbei that “brings a smile to those who eat them.” Senbei, a representative food of Japan, is often eaten without much thought. We wanted to make senbei that could truly make people happy, starting with a focus on high-quality rice and soy sauce. We found the “Tsuyahime” rice from Miyagi Prefecture and the “Super Special Soy Sauce” naturally brewed in barrels from Iriyama Soy Sauce in Choshi, Chiba, with a 300-year history. Senbei made from Tsuyahime rice turned out to be exceptionally delicious, offering a sweetness and umami that significantly surpass traditional senbei, with a very pleasant texture.

Thinking about how to enjoy delicious senbei visually led to the creation of “Yumeishi,” senbei that can be customized with messages or illustrations. Senbei are often used as gifts or for special occasions like souvenirs, mid-year gifts, and year-end gifts, and we’ve received happy comments like “I could convey my feelings” and “It was a hit with my clients.” Our message senbei “Yumeishi” are engraved with a laser, allowing for clear, detailed designs without unnecessary additives, making them a very safe and reliable product.

Currently, Kajiya Senbei, with my wife and children, is wholeheartedly working towards creating senbei that “make everyone smile.” We kindly ask for your continued support of Kajiya Senbei.
